Yuliya Lanina is a Russian-born American multimedia artist. Her paintings, animations, interactive sculptures and performances portray alternate realities that fuse fantasy, femininity, and humor.

Lanina's multimedia works and performances have awarded her invitations to many festivals and art fairs, as well as to the SIGGRAPH Asia, Yokohama, Japan; 798 Beijing Biennial, China; Seoul International Media Art Biennial, Korea; KunstFilm Bienalle, Cologne, Germany, Fusebox, Austin, TX.

Lanina's works have been widely exhibited in such museums and institutions as the Seoul Art Museum, Korea; Moscow Museum of Modern Art, Russia; Cleveland Institute or Art, OH, El Museo Cultural, Santa Fe, NM, Elisabet Ney Museum, Austin, TX and Galapagos Art Center, Brooklyn, NY.

Her work has been featured in Brooklyn Rail, Houston Press, Art Review, Wagmag, Bloomberg News, Austin-American Statesman, Australian Art Review, NYArts Magazine, ART on AIR.com/MOMA, PS 1, Bejing Today and can be found in several national and international private and corporate collections. Revolt Magazine chose Lanina as one of their top ten New York City artists of 2013.

Lanina’s collaborations were performed at Edinburgh Fringe (Scotland), the Ailey Citigroup Theater (New York), National Museum the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania (Vilnius, Lithuania), National Sawdust (Brooklyn, NY), Cincinnati Memorial Hall and other venues.

Her honors include fellowships and scholarships from Headlands Art Center, CORE Austin, Yaddo, Marble House Project, ArtSprinter and BluePrint (COJECO), TEMPO and an honorable citation from New York State Assembly.

Lanina received her Master’s of Fine Art in 2011 from Hunter College, CUNY, NY.
