A revolutionary concert featuring Steven Bernstein & Sexmob, Jaimeo Brown & Transcendence, and the world premiere of Beats per Revolution by Electric violist Martha Mooke and Beatboxing legend Rahzel. Featuring a performance of Gil Scott Heron's The Revolution Will Not Be Televised and an all-star ensemble.

Acclaimed for her electrifying performances and compositions, pioneering electro-acoustic violist, Martha Mooke transcends musical boundaries, enhancing her classical training with extended techniques, effects processing, and improvisation.

A Yamaha Artist and leading clinician on electric and progressive string playing, Mooke has toured with Barbra Streisand, Peter Gabriel, Andrea Bocelli, and Star Wars in Concert; and she has performed with Elton John, Trey Anastasio, Lou Reed, Iggy Pop, Laurie Anderson, Tony Bennett, Bon Jovi, Patti Smith, Damon Albarn, Blur, and many others.

Mooke is Founder and Artistic Director of the Scorchio Quartet, featured on David Bowie’s Heathen CD. Scorchio is the house quartet of the annual Tibet House Benefit Concerts at Carnegie Hall produced by Philip Glass.

Mooke's genre-defying recordings, Enharmonic Vision and Bowing’s Cafe Mars (duo w/guitarist Randolph Hudson), are critically acclaimed. Her latest CD, No Ordinary Window, released on MonkMusic Records, is produced by multi-Grammy winner Cynthia Daniels.

Mooke received the prestigious ASCAP Concert Music Award in 2001 for creating and producing ASCAP's new music showcase Thru The Walls, featuring composer/performers whose work defies categorization. She serves on the Board of Governors of the New York Chapter of the Recording Academy and on the Composers Now Advisory Board. marthamooke.com

Two-time Grammy Award-winning Vocal Percussionist Rahzel has mastered, then re-defined, the art of beatboxing in the new millennium, emerging as a true virtuoso in this quintessential musical art form. Rahzel is most popularly known as member emeritus of hip hop's cutting edge live band, The Roots, but has lent his talents to musical artists of all genres.

Known for his ability to sing or rap while simultaneously beatboxing, as evidenced in his performances of "Iron Man" and his signature song "If Your Mother Only Knew", his talents are showcased in various solo projects as well as on Ben Harper's 2000 single, "Steal My Kisses." He also provided his own voice on video games SSX and SSX Tricky.

A highly sought after vocalist, Rahzel has collaborated by touring, recording, producing, writing or performing with such artist as Angelique Kidjo, Beastie Boys, Beck, Ben Harper, Bjork, Bobby McFerrin, Boosty Collins, Brandford Marsalis, Christina Aguilera, Common, Cee Lo Green, Dave Chapelle, Erykah Badu, Everlast, Faith no More, John Legend, Lou Reed, Michelle N'Degeocello, Mike Patton, Maroon 5, Mix Master Mike, Methods of Mayhem, Nona Hendrix, Norah Jones, Patti Smith, Phillip Glass, Sean Paul, Snoop Dogg, The Roots, Toots and the Maytals, The Crystal Method, and The Who.
